The Vine and Wine Foundation of Armenia, supported by USAID, organized events in the UK to promote Armenian wines, with Northern Terroir participating.
On October 7, the first tasting took place in Manchester, where renowned wine expert Caroline Gilby showcased over 68 varieties from 30 Armenian wineries at the Manchester Sommelier Club. Attendees learned about the unique characteristics of Armenian wines, grape varieties, and the country’s rich culture and history.
The tasting continued on October 9 in London, where British wine buyers and journalists sampled the same wines. Armenia’s ambassador to the UK, Varuzhan Nersesyan, attended the London event, highlighting its significance for promoting Armenian wines and the potential for increased exports to the UK. Roundtable discussions also focused on the future prospects of Armenian wines.
